Lustrabotas

We live in a country where there is dignity in working - no matter what the job is! A little over one year ago on the front page of the Wall Street Journal there was an article titled "Shoeshone Boys in La Pax Need a Good Lawyer." Upon reading the article, David was extremely moved and by what these kids are up against. In La Pax, Bolivia the shoeshine boys (called Lustrabotas) have such a lowly status that they hide their faces in shame behind ski masks. This was heartbreaking to David so he wrote a letter to Jamie Cooper (the lawyer in the article) and asked him to send photos of the lustrabptas boys. After receiving the photos DAvid created portrits of those children. Mr. DeVary added halos to some of the boys and ended up with a very moving show titled "The Dignity of Work."

Mr. DeVary would like one half of any and all lustrabotas sales going to Jamie Cooper to help him continue his work for the boys.
